Cruise Ship Claustrophobia - How to make the best of it. |
|
|
This is my second cruise and I love lots of things about it. But I can get claustrophobia. We’re in an inside cabin and that is tougher than a room with a balcony.
When I get anxious I need to get out of the confined space immediately or I’ll…what? What will I do? I’m not sure - it feels like I’m going to explode or get hysterical.
Here are my tips:
- I get hot, so I change shoes to sandals or go barefoot, put my hair up, water on my head, anything to cool down.
- Change my state of mind: go for a walk in open areas, read a book, work a crossword or a Sudoku puzzle, make sure I’m oriented on the ship.
- Do something relaxing: drink a herbal tea, listen to music, sit in a hot tub.
- For lifeboat drills – I wait to put the vest on and take my time so I’m in front and not packed in.
- Take my time and let others rush ahead. After all this is my vacation.
Think about it. Millions of people are in these small spaces and survive just fine. What’s the big deal? Take a deep breath…maybe a bunch of deep breaths. Close your eyes and relax. |

An NCL Cruise First - Medical Treatments to Look Younger |
|
|
Mandara Medi-Spas are being added to NCL cruises. This is the opportunity for passengers to have Botox, Perlane or Restylane treatments while cruising. Currently these are available on the Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Dawn. In the fall all Norwegian cruise ships will host the procedures.
Botox is injected under the skin to minimize or smooth out wrinkles by relaxing the skin. Perlane and Restylane are sister products and are made with hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in skin. This is used to smooth wrinkles and deep lines. It can also be used on the lips, facial depressions and facial scarring.
To utilize this service there is a 30 minute consultation with an onboard physician to create a treatment plan.
Just think how surprised friends and family will be when you disembark at your home port and you are glowing - and younger looking. They will think it was the rest and relaxation. Whether you tell or not is up to you!
Sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line just got a little bit better. |
